HOUSTON, Apr. 12 -- Tesoro Corp. will shut down crude processing at its 120,000-b/d refinery at Anacortes, Wash., where an explosion in a naphtha hydrotreater killed three workers and injured four others on Apr. 2.
The refinery has been producing mainly unfinished intermediate products since the accident, which occurred while the hydrotreater was undergoing maintenance (OGJ Online, Apr. 5, 2010).
In a statement, the company said it couldn’t predict when operations would resume. It said it would supply customers from other of its refineries and third-party purchases.
