Strickland takes PostRock geoscience slot

PostRock Energy Corp., Oklahoma City, has named Douglas K. Strickland as executive vice-president of exploration and geoscience.

-- PostRock Energy Corp., Oklahoma City, has named Douglas K. Strickland as executive vice-president of exploration and geoscience.

Strickland will oversee PostRock’s current and future exploration and development efforts, including highgrading its drilling inventory in the Marcellus shale and Cherokee basin, identifying new exploration opportunities, and leading the geological review of potential acquisitions.

Strickland was instrumental in discovery of 100 million bbl Covenant field in Utah and in multiple discoveries in the Prairie du Chien formation in Michigan. He has been a consultant since 2007 after having served with Wolverine Gas & Oil Co. from 1999 to 2007. He started in 1979 as a structural geologist with Chevron Corp.

In 2010, the American Association of Petroleum Geologists named Strickland as one of 100 geologists that have made a significant impact on the American oil and natural gas industry the past 100 years.

Shareholders and unitholders of Quest Resource Corp., Quest Energy Partners LP, and Quest Midstream Partners LP approved a recombination as PostRock Energy (OGJ Online, Mar. 5, 2010).
