HOUSTON, Feb. 19
-- Alliance Pipeline announced its system is moving natural gas and natural gas liquids from the Bakken shale in the Williston basin via a new interconnect near Bantry, ND.

The interconnect links with Pecan Pipeline's Prairie Rose Pipeline. While the Bakken is primarily an oil play, it also produces associated gas.

The pipeline transports rich gas, which means the NGLs are extracted at the delivery point rather than at the production source.

Alliance Pipeline LP owns the US portion of the Alliance Pipeline system, which also extends into Canada. Alliance USA is owned 50-50 by affiliates of Enbridge Inc. and Fort Chicago Energy Partners LP.
