Seneca Resources Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of National Fuel Gas Co., Williamsville, NY, said the third horizontal well it operates in the Marcellus shale flowed at an initial 24-hr rate exceeding 10 MMcfd and an average 9.5 MMcfd over 7 days (OGJ Online, Sept. 22, 2009).

– Seneca Resources Corp., a wholly owned subsidiary of National Fuel Gas Co., Williamsville, NY, said the third horizontal well it operates in the Marcellus shale flowed at an initial 24-hr rate exceeding 10 MMcfd and an average 9.5 MMcfd over 7 days (OGJ Online, Sept. 22, 2009).

It said average 7-day initial production rates for the three horizontal wells it has completed in the Marcellus shale so far in Tioga County, Pa., have averaged 6.7 MMcfd.

Another National Fuel Gas unit, National Fuel Gas Midstream Corp., recently brought online its Covington Gathering System in Tioga County.

The system includes 8 miles of mostly 12-in., high-pressure gathering lines, dehydration, facilities, and an interconnection with the Tennessee Gas Pipeline system.

The new gathering system has capacity of 100 MMcfd.
