LOS ANGELES, Dec. 17 -- ConocoPhillips and partners have started production from North Belut gas field on South Natuna Sea Block B off Indonesia.
Production is expected to reach more than 200 MMscfd of gas and 20,000 b/d of liquids. The dry gas will help Indonesia meet sales obligations to Malaysia. The LPG will be used in Indonesia.
The field, about 1,180 km north of Jakarta, produces through two wellhead platforms to a central processing platform. From there production flows through a pipeline manifold to connect with the existing Block B system.
Inpex Corp., a partner, said development drilling continues.
ConocoPhillips operates the field and has a 40% stake. Inpex Corp. has a 35% share, and Chevron Corp. has 25%.
