HOUSTON, Dec. 16
– Ram Power Corp., Reno, Nev., will drill two more wells for Phase 1 expansion of its San Jacinto-Tizate geothermal power project near Leon, northwest of Managua, Nicaragua.

Ram Power subsidiary Polaris Energy Nicaragua SA has 56 Mw drilled and available at the existing production wellheads, including the 16 Mw and 22.8 Mw from the two most recently drilled wells. By drilling the two additional wells, the company expects to reach the project’s full 72 Mw net capacity by the end of 2011.

The 72 Mw of power will be sold under a long term power purchase agreement to local Nicaraguan subsidiaries of Union Fenosa, the Spanish based utility. All permits are in hand.
