HOUSTON, Dec. 4
– The PetroHungaria Kft group completed the PEN-105 well on the Nyirseg South permit in northeastern Hungary at 2.75 MMscfd from a 9-m interval at the top of the Miocene volcaniclastic section.

The well is to be connected to a pipeline in February 2010.

PetroHungaria said initial tests of the high-angle PEN-104AA well returned a small amount of gas and water with filtrate lost to the Miocene volcaniclastic formation while drilling. Further tests are planned in January.

PetroHungaria received permits for PEN-101 and PEN-106, and drilling is to start in late January.

Interests in PetroHungaria are Ascent Resources 45.52%, DualEx International Inc. 37.5%, Geomega 8%, Leni Gas & Oil 7.27%, and Swede Resources 2%.
