HOUSTON, Dec. 23 – OGX Petroleo e Gas Participacoes SA said its 1-OGX-2A-RJS well, drilled in shallow water in the southern Campos basin off Brazil, has reached total depth after encountering hydrocarbons in five reservoirs (OGJ Online, Dec. 7, 2009).

The Diamond Offshore Ocean Ambassador semisubmersible drilled the well to 3,550 m. The well found hydrocarbons in Eocene, Upper Cretaceous, Albian, Aptian, and Barremian reservoirs.

OGX said it conducted wireline pretests and sampling, final logging, and sidewall coring, confirming the presence of high-quality carbonate reservoirs. It estimated a recoverable oil volume for all reservoirs of 1-2 billion bbl.
