HOUSTON, Nov. 24
– Norwood Resources Ltd., Vancouver, BC, will drill a second sidetrack hole at San Bartolo, Nicaragua, because the first sidetrack SB-1X is considered too degraded for adequate testing of the principle hydrocarbon targets.

Hole stability was compromised during low pressure nitrogen lift operations when borehole pressures fell below formation strength resulting in hole collapse problems.

The second sidetrack will be drilled with a high-viscosity inhibited mud to maintain wellbore stability and minimize formation damage. Underbalanced drilling using nitrogen circulation will only be applied while drilling through each of the target zones, each of which will be isolated and tested when first penetrated.
