WASHINGTON, DC, Nov. 30 -- A former bookkeeper at the Interstate Oil & Gas Compact Commission has pleaded guilty in Oklahoma City to federal charges of embezzling funds from the organization, the US Federal Bureau of Investigation said.
The FBI said Denise L. Thurlow worked at IOGCC from August 1987 to November 2008, when she issued checks to pay her personal credit card account. As part of her plea, she admitted that the loss attributable to the IOGCC as a result of her actions was $30,000-70,000, the FBI said.
Thurlow faces up to 10 years in prison, up to a $250,000 fine, and restitution upon sentencing in federal district court for western Oklahoma, which will be scheduled within 90 days.
