– Turkiye Petrolleri AO has spud the Bati Ayazli-1 exploration well in the South Akcakoca subbasin in the Black Sea off Turkey.

Drilling is expected to take 49 days at a site west of Ayazli gas field, said Stratic Energy Corp., Calgary, which holds 12.25% interest in the well. It targets the reservoir that produces at Ayazli field and a deeper stratigraphic interval previously untested in the area.

The Grup Servicii Petroliere Saturn jack-up spud the well on Oct. 6.
