Stratic Energy Corp., Calgary, has spud the Al Tayr-101 well on the Jebel Nasrani prospect in 1.2 million acre Block XVII in southwestern Syria’s Palmyride basin.

– Stratic Energy Corp., Calgary, has spud the Al Tayr-101 well on the Jebel Nasrani prospect in 1.2 million acre Block XVII in southwestern Syria’s Palmyride basin.

The well is projected to 3,000 m to Triassic Kurrachine carbonates, the main gas-bearing reservoirs in fields to the north.

Jebel Nasrani is among eight prospects identified shooting 1,105 line-km and reprocessing 1,500 line-km.

Block interests are Stratic 35%, DualEx Energy International Inc., Calgary, 31.67%, and Kuwait Foreign Petroleum Exploration Co. 33.33%.
