HOUSTON, Oct. 7
-- JKX Oil & Gas PLC has tested 13.1 MMcfd of gas and 12 b/d of condensate from its first well in Koshekhablskoye field in Russia’s Adygeya Republic northeast of the Black Sea.

Gas flow from the project is to start in the fourth quarter of 2010.

Well 27’s flow, from open hole at 5,096-5,198 m, exerted 1,741 psi of flowing wellhead pressure on a 36/64 in. choke and greatly exceeded the rate anticipated at the time of acquisition of the Koshekhablskoye field in 2007, when the field’s wells averaged 6 MMcfd, JKX said. A coiled tubing unit was used to acidize the well.

This is the first of 10 wells scheduled to be reworked in the Oxfordian limestone reservoir. JKX set a new wellhead and replaced tubing with corrosion resistant steel. The Kremco-900 rig is to recomplete Well 20 later in the fourth quarter.

The redevelopment program also includes flowlines and design and installation of a gas processing plant.
