HOUSTON, Oct. 5
– Triangle Petroleum Corp., Calgary, launched a 30 line-km 2D seismic program on the 475,000-acre Windsor Block in Nova Scotia.

The $500,000 program is to assess a geologic structure in the west-central part of the block where no seismic has yet been acquired. Triangle believes the best potential for Horton Bluff gas shales and conventional reservoirs exists in areas with geologic structure.

The seismic program, combined with completions of three previously drilled vertical exploration wells, should satisfy the first-year requirements of the 10-year production lease. The company is seeking partners to participate in the next round of drilling.
