HOUSTON, Oct. 14 -- Sky Petroleum Inc., Austin, plans to acquire interests in OPL 205 and OPL 905 in interior Nigeria's Anambra basin from private Russian firm Suntera Resources.
Suntera, as technical operator of the blocks, has 35% interest in 1,300 sq km OPL 205 near Benin City and 40% interest with an option to acquire a further 20% in 2,600 sq km OPL 905 near Enugu. OPL 905 has the Amansiodo and Ehandiagu undeveloped gas discoveries.
Other participants are Summit Oil International, Oil India Ltd., and Indian Oil Corp. Ltd. in OPL 205 and Nigerian firms 35 Oil and Gas, GTPL, and IOG in OPL 905.
