HOUSTON, Sept. 18 – Maurel & Prom, Paris, will become operator of the 756 sq km Mnazi Bay permit off Tanzania with a 38.22% participating interest in the permit and a 47.775% participating interest in exploration operations as the result of a farmout from Artumas Group Inc.
M&P and Cove Energy PLC agreed to shoot 600 sq km of 3D seismic and drill two appraisal wells in 2011. Other participants are Artumas Group and Tanzania Petroleum Development Co.
A power plant fueled by gas from Mnazi Bay/Msimbati gas fields generated its first electricity in December 2006.
