HOUSTON, Sept. 21
– Petrolia, Quebec City, Que., has spud the Haldimand-2 well 3.5 km southwest of Gaspe on Quebec’s Gaspe Peninsula.

It is projected to 1,170 m. Goal is to confirm lateral extension of the oil-producing zones encountered in the Petrolia Haldimand-1 well 1 km away and 120 m structurally higher. Petrolia shot 3D seismic over the area in late 2008.

Petrolia alone will pay the well costs. After completion, interest in the well will be Petrolia 55.1%, Junex Inc. 35.4%, and Gastem Inc. 9.5%.
