HOUSTON, Sept. 23
– Polish Oil & Gas Co. is starting production from a Rotliegend sandstone reservoir at 3,000 m at the Roszkow well in western Poland, said FX Energy Inc., Salt Lake City.

Gas rate is expected to reach 15 MMcfd in the next few days, and Rotliegend wells in Poland and throughout Europe typically maintain plateau production for several years before declining, FX Energy said.

FX Energy’s 49% share of output will more than double the company’s daily production and “should provide the discretionary cash flow we need to expand operations in our core Fences area in Poland over the next several years,” the company said.

The two firms are preparing for the next few 3D seismic defined wells and expect drilling to start in 3-4 months. Four more wells in the Fences concession await pipeline connections, of which three are to go on production later in 2010 at a combined 7 MMcfd net to FX Energy.
