Credo Petroleum Corp., Denver, said the Southeast Hewitt Unit in which it holds 17% interest has produced 785,000 bbl of oil due to waterflooding following 450,000 bbl of primary recovery.

HOUSTON, Sept. 23
– Credo Petroleum Corp., Denver, said the Southeast Hewitt Unit in which it holds 17% interest has produced 785,000 bbl of oil due to waterflooding following 450,000 bbl of primary recovery.

Production at the Carter County unit has continued to increase to 300 b/d of oil with 27% water cut, and two more wells are to be drilled within a few months. Ultimate secondary recovery could exceed 1.2 million bbl of oil from Pennsylvanian Deese sand.

Credo owns working interests in three other early-stage Deese waterfloods near Southeast Hewitt are expected to begin responding in 18-24 months.
