HOUSTON, Sept. 17 – National Oil Co. of Liberia awarded a contract to TGS-NOPEC Geophysical Co. for a 15,000 line-km, long-offset, regional 2D seismic, gravity, and magnetic survey in ultradeep water off Liberia.
The program will extend TGS multiclient data out to 4,000 m of water. Acquisition is to start in the fourth quarter of 2009 if industry shows sufficient interest. The national oil company expects to hold a license round based on the data retrieved.
