Dong lets contract for Oselvar flowlines

Dong E&P Norge AS has let a €45 million contract to Technip for engineering, procurement, construction, and installation of flowlines and umbilicals at Oselvar oil field in the Norwegian North Sea.

LONDON, Sept. 25 -- Dong E&P Norge AS has let a €45 million contract to Technip for engineering, procurement, construction, and installation of flowlines and umbilicals at Oselvar oil field in the Norwegian North Sea.

The field, scheduled to start up in fourth-quarter 2011, is 250 km off Norway in 72 m of water.

The contract covers turnkey delivery of a 27-km pipe-in-pipe flowline, installation of an umbilical, and subsea equipment and tie-ins.

Dong earlier let a contract for the subsea production system to Aker Solutions (OGJ, June 15, 2009, Newsletter).

The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate indicates that the field may recover 4.4 million cu m of oil and condensate and 4.8 billion cu m of gas. Depth of the reservoir is 2,900-3,250 m.

Dong E&P plans to produce Oselvar with three horizontal wells completed subsea.

Operator Dong E&P holds a 40% interest in Production License 274 on Block 1/3. Partners in the license are Bayerngas Produksjon Norge 30%, Wintershall Norge ASA 15%, and Norwegian Energy Co. ASA 15%.
