HOUSTON, Sept. 22
-- Petroceltic International PLC reported its third gas-condensate discovery on the Isarene permit in eastern Algeria’s Illizi basin.

The AT-1 well flowed 11.4 MMcfd of gas and 210 b/d of condensate, natural, with 205 psi flowing wellhead pressure on a 2-in. choke from the Ordovician Unit IV at 1,915 m.

Wireline log results exceeded predrill estimates as they confirmed a gas-water contact at 1,948 m and revealed better than expected porosity and permeability. Interests in the well are Petroceltic 75% and Algeria’s Sonatrach 25%.

AT-2, second well in Ain Tsila field, is coring the objective Ordovician formation. Petroceltic plans to test AT-2 and then the INE-2 well.

Petroceltic tested gas in 2006 from the shallower Devonian and Carboniferous objectives in wells HTT-2 at 15.4 MMscfd from three zones and ISAS-1 at 1.2 MMscfd from two zones.
