KPC ponders investment in Pakistan oil projects

Kuwait Petroleum Corp. (KPC) has expressed interest in investing in various petroleum-related projects in Pakistan, said Talat Jabeen, KPC country manager, in a meeting with Pakistan Oil Minister Syed Naveed Qamar.

-- Kuwait Petroleum Corp. (KPC) has expressed interest in investing in various petroleum-related projects in Pakistan, said Talat Jabeen, KPC country manager, in a meeting with Pakistan Oil Minister Syed Naveed Qamar.

KPC has been the key supplier of diesel to Pakistan for 3 decades, currently furnishing 75% of its needs or 2.5-3 million tonnes/year. Pakistan State Oil has an outstanding payment of 12.9 billion rupees to KPC for purchase of petroleum products.

The two officials discussed future petroleum prospects and avenues for mutual cooperation. Subsidiaries of KPC have been involved in various sectors, including oil and gas exploration, and the company expressed its willingness to also enter the midstream and downstream businesses.
