LONDON, Aug. 4 -- Tullow Ghana Ltd. has let a contract for subsea, well test, and data acquisition services to Expro International Group PLC for its deepwater Jubilee oil field off Ghana, which is due to start production next year (OGJ, July 27, 2009, p. 35).
Separately, MODEC Offshore Production Systems (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. let a contract to Jurong Shipyard Pte. Ltd. to convert a very large crude carrier (VLCC) into a floating production, storage, and offloading (FPSO) vessel for Jubilee.
Expro International will deliver a subsea deepwater intervention completion landing string, using electrohydraulic technology, which will operate from a fifth-generation dynamic positioning rig.
Under a 30-month contract, it also will handle data acquisition and surface well-test clean-up work.
Jurong Shipyard, a wholly owned subsidiary of Sembcorp Marine, will convert the Ohdoh (ex Tohdoh) VLCC into FPSO Kwame Nkrumah MV21 for installation in 1,100 m of water at Jubilee.
The FPSO will be able to process more than 120,000 b/d of oil, inject more than 230,000 b/d of water, handle 160 MMscfd of produced gas, and store 1.6 million bbl of oil.
The conversion includes detailed engineering, installation, and integration of 18 topside modules; installation of external turret and power generation; accommodation upgrading; and extensive piping and electrical cabling work.
