TransCanada appoints Girling as chief operating officer

TransCanada Corp. has appointed Russ Girling as chief operating officer.

HOUSTON, July 17
-- TransCanada Corp. has appointed Russ Girling as chief operating officer.

Girling will be responsible for the physical and commercial operation of TransCanada’s assets, including oil and gas pipelines, electric power generation, and natural gas storage. He will also be responsible for the corporation’s capital investment program.

In addition to serving as chief operating officer, Girling will continue in his role as president, pipelines.
