LONDON, July 30 -- StatoilHydro plans to increase production from Norne oil field in the Norwegian Sea this summer through a subsea system.
FMC Technologies will provide four subsea trees, one four-slot manifold system, and associated wellheads, tubing hangers, and related control and communication systems.
The protection structure for the manifold will weigh 250 tonnes.
StatoilHydro plans to improve recovery from Norne through satellite developments, which will reach a plateau of 1 million boe/d by 2015. The new development, Norne M, will be tied into the Norne floating, production, storage, and offloading vessel.
The company will use the Deepsea Bergen semisubmersible rig to drill and complete four new production wells on the M-frame. It will also do sidetrack drilling and well maintenance on the field, with a planned water injector in 2011.
Production began from Norne, which lies in 380 m of water, started in 1997. Norne lies on a license that was awarded in 1986, and embraces Blocks 6608/10 and 6608/11.
