HOUSTON, July 7 – CGGVeritas began shooting a 677 sq mile 3D multiclient seismic survey in eastern DeSoto and Red River parishes, Louisiana.
Two 7,000-channel crews will shoot the survey over the next year over the core area of the Jurassic Haynesville shale gas play, where hundreds of horizontal wells are expected to be drilled.
The configuration of the wide azimuth survey is designed to enable enhanced fracture detection and understanding.
