HOUSTON, July 23 -- Hyperdynamics Corp., Houston, has appointed Ray Leonard as chief executive officer.
Kent Watts, former chief executive officer and chairman, becomes nonexecutive chairman.
Leonard has 32 years experience in exploration and business development. He will pursue a joint venture partner for Hyperdynamics as it seeks to explore a block off Guinea, West Africa.
Most recently he was vice-president of Eurasia and exploration for newly formed Kuwait Energy Co., the first private Arab oil company with major funding and influential support.
He held other positions with Hungary’s state MOL PLC, Russia’s OAO Yukos, First International Oil Corp., and Amoco Production Co.
