LONDON, Dec.19 -- StatoilHydro has let a $45 million contract to FMC Technologies Inc. to provide subsea equipment for its Heidrun North project in the Norwegian Sea by 2010.
The contract is the outcome of a frame agreement signed by the companies in 2007.
FMC will provide three subsea production trees and two water injection trees to increase oil recovery at Heidrun North. FMC will also supply 10 tubing hangers, six control systems and three flow control modules.
Heidrun North is an oil reservoir with a gas cap on Block 6507/8, northeast of Statoil's existing Heidrun field. Recoverable reserves are 25 million bbl of oil. Production from Heidrun North will extend Heidrun plateau output of 210,000 b/d for 4 years.
Heidrun North has 11 wells, including one producer and one injector tied back to the Heidrun tension leg platform.
