GDF Suez acquires Econergy International

GDF Suez Energy has acquired Econergy International—a US company listed in the UK—for £39 million.

PARIS, Oct. 29 -- GDF Suez Energy has acquired Econergy International—a US company listed in the UK—for £39 million.

Econergy's portfolio of renewable energy projects in operation, construction, and development in the US, Mexico, Brazil, Bolivia, Costa Rica, and Chile fits with and completes the group's international portfolio.

Ecoenergy International also is actively engaged in carbon credit markets and provides consulting services on renewable energy, energy efficiency, and carbon footprint management.

Its total installed capacity amounts to 266 Mw of small hydroelectric, wind, and coalbed methane projects already operating or in construction. It also has a portfolio of 200 Mw of projects in various development stages.
