HOUSTON, Sept. 23 -- Reliance Industries Ltd. has started oil production from MA-D6 field in the Bay of Bengal off eastern India (See map, OGJ, July 18, 2005, p. 34).
Production started Sept. 17, said Aker Solutions ASA, which manufactured and delivered the subsea production system and managed the subsea equipment installation.
Aker Floating Production converted and delivered the floating production, storage, and offloading vessel Dhirubai 1.
Both the subsea system and FPSO were delivered less than 16 months after being awarded the contracts, Aker Solutions said. Production started within 30 months of discovery.
