HOUSTON, Sept. 19 -- Canada's National Energy Board approved Repsol Energy Canada Ltd.'s application for a long-term license to import LNG.

NEB also granted Repsol Energy Canada a separate license to export regasified LNG to the US. However, NEB denied Repsol's request to export Canadian natural gas as part of the export license.

Repsol said LNG will supply the Canaport LNG terminal near Saint John's, NB. Natural gas will be available for export to US markets through the Emera Brunswick Pipeline (OGJ Online, Feb. 19, 2007).
