HOUSTON, Aug. 12 -- Tethys Oil AB said a 3D seismic survey is under way to better define and map the Jebel Aswad structure on Block 15 off Oman.

In June 2008, the Jebel Aswad-2 (JAS-2) confirmed hydrocarbons in the Natih A and Natih C reservoirs. A horizontal sidetrack is being planned for the Natih A reservoir.

In June 2007, the JAS-1 well on test flowed at a rate of 11.03 MMscfd of natural gas and 793 b/d of 57° gravity condensate.

The seismic survey is estimated to take 6 weeks. Tethys of Stockholm holds 40% interest and operates Block 15. Danish company Odin Energi holds 60% interest.
