LONDON, July 17 -- StatoilHydro has let an $87 million contract to FMC Technologies to manufacture and supply subsea equipment for the operator's Norne field in the Norwegian Sea.

FMC will provide four subsea trees, one four-slot manifold system and associated wellheads, tubing hangers, and related control and communication systems. All equipment will be manufactured at FMC's Kongsberg, Norway, and Dunfermline, Scotland, operations. Deliveries are scheduled for 2009.

The contract builds upon a frame agreement the parties signed in 2007.

StatoilHydro is implementing a major program to improve Norne production by 10 million b/d. In 2006 the company installed a new subsea template to prolong the field's life. Norne produces 80,000 b/d.
