LONDON, June 25 -- Elixir Petroleum Ltd. has shot 1,222 sq km of 3D seismic, securing data over Block SL-4 off Sierra Leone.

The company, which operates the acreage, completed the survey on time and on budget and has begun to interpret the data. Elixir expects to complete interpretation in the first quarter of 2009.

Elixir's Managing Director, Andrew Ross said: "The newly acquired 3D data will allow us to better refine the play types and very large targets previously identified from the existing high quality 2D seismic data set."
