HOUSTON, June 15 -- Serica Energy PLC said it finished the production testing of all three Kambuna gas wells in the Malacca Straits 40 km off North Sumatra, Indonesia.
The Kambuna-4 production well tested the Belumai reservoir over a 56-ft interval at 7,154-7,210 ft true vertical depth below mean sea level. It produced gas at a stabilized rate of 41 MMscfd of gas and 2,900 b/d of 54° gravity condensate.
The flowing wellhead pressure was 1,444 psi. The Kambuna-4 well was drilled as a deviated well from the surface location of Kambuna-2 and reached a maximum 55° deviation angle from the vertical.
The Kambuna-2 production well was tested at a stabilized rate of 33 MMscfd of gas, and the Kambuna-3 well was tested at a stabilized rate of 40 MMscfd of gas.
The total maximum stabilized gas rate from the three wells was 114 MMscfd along with an estimated 8,000 b/d of condensate.
Serica Energy of London began Kambuna development drilling in 2005 (OGJ, Oct. 24, 2005, p. 56). The company expects plateau production 50 MMscfd of gas and 5,000 b/d of condensate from proved reserves estimated at 19 million boe (OGJ, June 9, 2008, Newsletter).
GFI Oil & Gas Corp., Calgary, holds 35% interest in the block.
