LONDON, June 14 -- Eni SPA has let a $65 million subsea production contract to Aker Solutions SA for the Italian firm's Oyo field off Nigeria. Oyo field is expected to start oil production in 2009 and peak at 29,000 b/d of oil.

Aker will produce four subsea trees with wellheads and control systems, tie-in connection system, workover system and tools, dynamic and static steel tube umbilicals, and system engineering.

Eni became operator of Oyo field in 2005 and holds 40% interest. Oyo lies on oil mining lease 120 (OML 120) and OML 121. The field is 200 km offshore in 200-900 m of water. An appraisal well drilled on OML 120 found oil at 2,730 m.
