LOS ANGELES, May 19 -- Excelerate Energy LLC, The Woodlands, Tex., is expected to complete this month the GasPort floating LNG import and regasification facility at the port city of Bahia Blanca, Argentina, 400 miles south of Buenos Aires. The facility was jointly-developed with Argentina's YPF SA.

The facility was built with an initial capacity to import as much as three LNG cargoes/month, each of which would contain the equivalent of about 3 bcf of natural gas.

The Bahia Blanca facility will be Argentina's first LNG gas import terminal, enabling delivery of as much as 400 MMcfd of natural gas to Argentina's market. The first cargo is expected to arrive by the end of May.

Excelerate's regasification vessel Excelsior will dock alongside a dedicated jetty at Bahia Blanca and connect to the onshore facility. It will regasify LNG supplied by traditional LNG carriers and will feed the gas directly into Argentina's gas distribution system.
