PERTH, Apr. 8 -- Adelaide-based Santos Ltd. has awarded two parallel pre-FEED contracts to Foster Wheeler and Bechtel, each to undertake a 6-month study for the company's proposed coal seam methane-sourced LNG project for Gladstone on the east Queensland coast.
A final investment decision on the project is anticipated by the end of 2009, with first LNG cargoes expected by 2014.
Santos said Bechtel will consider the feasibility of ConocoPhillips's optimized cascade process, and Foster Wheeler will evaluate the Air Products C3MR process.
