LOS ANGELES, Apr. 7 -- Brazil's Petroleo Brasileiro SA (Petrobras) has awarded Norway's Aker Solutions ASA (formerly Aker Kvaerner ASA) a $223 million contract to provide offshore oil production equipment over the next 3 years.
The scope of work includes 45 subsea trees and 6 complete tool sets plus related accessories and spare parts. Deliveries will begin in third quarter 2009, with final deliveries targeted for yearend 2011.
The work will be managed from Aker Solution's manufacturing facility in Curitiba, Brazil.
The Norwegian engineering and construction group said it changed its name to simplify its corporate identity and underscore its ties with other companies in the Aker ASA group.
