EnCana lets EPC contract for Deep Panuke field

EnCana Corp. has let a $195 million engineering, procurement, construction, and installation contract to Acergy SA for offshore installation work on Canada's Deep Panuke field.

LONDON, Feb. 14 -- EnCana Corp. has let a $195 million engineering, procurement, construction, and installation contract to Acergy SA for offshore installation work on Canada's Deep Panuke field.

The contract covers installation, burial, and tie-in of 17 km, 8-in. infield flowlines and umbilicals to four production wells by the second quarter of 2010. Acergy also will connect an acid gas disposal flowline to a central floating production unit.

Deep Panuke in Nova Scotia is to recover 390-890 bcf of sales gas, with a mean estimate of 630 bcf, at the rate of 300 MMcfd. The field is expected to produce for 8-17½ years (OGJ Online, Apr. 13, 2007).
