HOUSTON, Dec. 11 -- Afren PLC and Amni International Petroleum Development Co. have taken delivery of the Armada Perkasa floating production, storage, and offloading vessel, which will be moored at the Okoro Setu oil project, off Nigeria.
The FPSO, which sailed out from Keppel Shipyard in Singapore, is due to arrive at the Okoro terminal in February.
Bumi Armada Berhad owns and operates the Armada Perkasa. It is a refurbished, 211-m-long, 33,081 ton vessel having a storage capacity of 360,000 bbl of crude oil and a total liquids processing capacity of 27,000 b/d. It will process the total well fluids, producing stabilized crude for storage in the FPSO, with subsequent regular offloading by export tankers (OFJ Online, Apr. 23, 2007).
The field development plan calls for as many as five oil producers to be drilled from a single unmanned wellhead platform. Production is expected to start by the end of first-quarter 2008 and ramp up to about 15,000-20,000 b/d by midyear. Oil will be transported by pipeline to the FPSO for processing and storage.
