Holly Corp. names president

Independent refiner Holly Corp., Dallas, has elected David L. Lamp as president.

HOUSTON, Nov. 6 -- Independent refiner Holly Corp., Dallas, has elected David L. Lamp as president. Lamp has more than 28 years of technical, commercial, and operational experience in the refining industry.

Serving as Holly's executive vice-president of refining and marketing since November 2005, he oversaw marketing and capital project development, planning, and execution at the company's 85,000 b/d refinery in Artesia, NM, and its 26,000 b/d refinery at Woods Cross, Utah. Lamp joined Holly in January 2004 as vice-president of refinery operations.

Prior to joining Holly, Lamp served as vice-president and general manager of El Paso Energy's Aruba refinery complex, and earlier served as director of operations for Kosa, a joint venture of Koch Industries and Saba, where he was responsible for 15 chemical and fiber plants in the US, Canada, Mexico, and Europe.

Lamp also served for more than 20 years with Koch Industries, rising to the position of executive vice-president, refining and chemical operations, where he had responsibility for all operating aspects of Koch's 500,000 b/d of refining capacity and all its chemical plants.
