LONDON, Oct. 24 -- StatoilHydro will charter the Polar Pioneer semisubmersible from Transocean Inc. for 4 years, starting from first half 2010, the operator said.
The high-specification floater, which can work in harsh environments and in 1,640 ft of water, will be used for exploration north of Norway and for completion of production wells.
The lease will begin when work under the rig's current contract is completed.
