HOUSTON, Oct. 15 -- Philip Olivier, who has served as Suez Global LNG's executive vice-president of business development, has been appointed chief executive officer and president of Suez Global LNG. He also will become a member of the Suez Energy International general management committee.

Oliver succeeds Rick Grant, who has begun a new role as senior advisor for all LNG activities.

Prior to joining Suez Energy, Olivier worked for more than 10 years for Electrabel, first in the power generation area and later in the electricity, gas, and television distribution activities in Belgium. He joined Suez Energy in 1995 as vice-president of distribution and transport. He took over full leadership of the department in 2000.

Since 2001, when the Suez Global LNG region was created, Oliver has served as head of business development, focusing on long-term LNG supply agreements, shipping capacity, trading, and providing support to the other Suez Energy International regions for LNG projects.
