NPRA elects executive committee members for 2008

The National Petrochemical & Refiners Association at its recent board meeting has elected several members to its executive committee.

HOUSTON, Oct. 31 -- The National Petrochemical & Refiners Association at its recent board meeting has elected several members to its executive committee. The newly elected members will take office in March 2008.

The association elected Norm Phillips, Lyondell Chemical Co.'s senior vice-president of fuels and pipelines, as its chairman. Phillips succeeds James Mahoney, vice-president of operations excellence and compliance for Koch Industries. Mahoney will remain on NPRA's executive committee as past chairman.

Phillips began his career with Lyondell in 1977, and was named vice-president of petrochemicals sales and marketing in 1995. He served as senior vice-president, polymers, in August 1998, and has been in his current position with the firm since April 2002.

Kevin Brown was elected NPRA's vice-chairman. Brown currently serves as executive vice-president, operations, for Sinclair Oil Corp. Previously, he served as Sinclair's senior vice-president, operations, as well as the firm's refinery manager, operations manager, and technical manager. He began his career at Texaco Inc.'s Convent, La., refinery.

Bill Finnerty, executive vice-president and chief operating officer of Tesoro Corp., was elected NPRA's treasurer. Finnerty joined Tesoro in 2003 as vice-president, crude oil and logistics, and has served as the firm's senior vice-president, supply and distribution. Previously, he served as vice-president of ChevronTexaco's trading North America crude division. He also has served as senior vice-president at Texaco Trading & Transportation Co. and senior vice-president, trading and operations, for Equiva Trading Co.
