PARIS, Oct. 15 -- Gaz de France, in line with its sustainable development policy, said it will acquire a 95% stake in Erelia, a developer and operator of wind farms in France. The deal should be finalized in the fourth quarter.

Erelia will have a capacity of nearly 70 Mw in northeastern France by yearend. This will bring GDF's total capacity at that time to 110 Mw.

GDF aims to have 2,000 Mw of wind power facilities in operation by yearend 2012 and is banking on the further 300 Mw which Erelia plans to develop in France over the next 4 years.
