HOUSTON, Sept. 12 -- Stephen Western has been appointed senior vice-president, exploration, of Meridian Resource Corp.
Western has more than 29 years of exploration experience, including with ConocoPhillips, Burlington Resources Inc., Vastar Resources Inc., Occidental Oil & Gas Corp., BP Exploration, and Standard Oil Co.
Prior to joining Meridian, Western served as ConocoPhillips's exploration manager for the northern Gulf of Mexico. At Burlington, his roles included exploration manager, US conventional resources, and global chief geophysicist.
