HOUSTON, Aug. 20 -- Woodside Burrup Pty. Ltd. has let a $200 million contract to FMC Technologies Inc. for a subsea system for the Pluto LNG project, which will use gas from Pluto field 190 km northwest of Karratha off Western Australia (OGJ Online, Aug. 6, 2007).

FMC will supply five subsea trees, related control and tie-in systems, and two production manifolds. The company will engineer and manufacture the system at its facilities in Norway and Singapore.

The project's initial phase will involve a single LNG production train having a 4.3 million tonne/year capacity on the Burrup Peninsula and a 180 km, 36-in. subsea pipeline from the fields. It also will include a field platform at Pluto, which will be moored in 85 m of water and connected to five subsea wells.

A second phase, which will require additional funding approval, will include compression on the platform and a tie-in to the smaller Xena field. Onshore facilities will also include storage tanks and a marine loading terminal.
