Petronor to upgrade Spanish delayed coking complex

LONDON, Aug. 9 -- Petroleos del Norte SA (Petronor) has named Foster Wheeler Iberia SAU to engineer, procure, and construct a 36,000 b/sd delayed coking complex for Petronor's 220,000 b/d Somorrostro refinery at Bilbao in northern Spain.

The coking complex will use Foster Wheeler's proprietary delayed coking technology and will include coke handling, storage facilities, and a gas concentration unit. The contract follows the front-end engineering design work carried out by Foster Wheeler Iberia.

Repsol YPF is the majority-owner of Petronor.
